Kokomo

Kokomo was our main herd sire at Pinnacle Peak Llama Ranch.  He is 1/2 Peruvian, out of Bardo's Omar Khayyam, a full Peruvian Bardo son.  His dam is out of B.T. Huckstable, who has produced such notable females as Hannah's Bananna Nut Bread.

Kokomo has been producing extremely colorful and correct offspring.  To date, he has 5 beautiful daughters and 3 very handsome sons.  We have kept a few of his daughters as breeding females, and they are producing exceptional crias with our new stud, Chilean Outlaw.  Outlaw was purchased to breed specifically to our Kokomo girls, and we are very happy with the results of this combination.

What Kokomo brings to the gene pool is his beautiful heavy coat of fleece, his tremendous bone, substance and conformation, and his mellow temperment and sweet personality.

Kokomo has been named Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion at several shows, and he's always an attention-getter whenever we bring him out in the public eye.  From fairs to parades to official llama shows, he makes sure that no one passes him by without a visit and a chance to pet him.  He has also placed well in the performance classes at ALSA shows.

Kokomo @ 6 years old

Here is Kokomo in June 2005, sporting his fresh "stud cut".  We sheared him down the legs for the first time ever, removing fleece off his hind quarters that was over 12" long!  This cut shows off Kokomo's dead-level topline and the red appaloosa spots down his back and legs.

Update July 2006:  We sheared Kokomo's chest and shoulder fiber, as it was just getting too long and too hot.  And man, does he look gorgeous now.  I didn't think he could get better looking, but he did.  New photos coming soon!

Qualified for 2006 ALSA Regionals in halter and Get-of-Sire.
